Anthony Willsher performs a dual role within Contego Underwriting Limited; being both a Director and underwriter, for all classes of business and has been since its formation. After completing both full time and further education, he began his career as a trainee underwriter in Lloyd's in 1983.
Initially working for a direct service company, he moved into the Underwriting room of Lloyd's in 1986. There he performed various underwriting roles and undertook to complete his professional insurance qualifications and become an ACII - Associate member of The Chartered Insurance Institute. During his 20 years in Lloyd's, Anthony joined many advisory groups and went on to become a Chartered Insurer.
From 1988 he moved to a specialist Engineering Syndicate where he gained further knowledge required for this class. In 1994 he was asked to join Charles Parmenter as part of his team as a senior Underwriter. Anthony worked at the Syndicate until leaving in 1999 to join Charles and help establish the original underwriting agency and latterly Contego Underwriting Limited.
