| Charles Parmenter Managing Director |
Charles Parmenter is Managing Director of Contego Underwriting Limited and has been since its formation. He continues in his dual role of director and underwriter for all classes of business and is ultimately responsible for all area's of CUL's business operations.
After completing full time education, he began his insurance career in 1976 as a trainee underwriter with the General Accident. It was here that he gained his intimate knowledge of the Engineering insurance classes. Leaving after seven years and having been promoted several times, he took his experience and market knowledge to the AIG, in London. Here he operated and underwrote a successful account of Engineering classes and continued with his insurance and Engineering technical training, during his seven years with the company.
Having established himself as a recognised market leader in his field it was of no surprise to see him then approached to become part of the management team at a specialist Lloyd's Syndicate. Charles worked for the syndicate for 9 years, leaving in 1999 to establish a new underwriting agency and in August 2006 establish Contego Underwriting Limited.
